In this short read I just want to share my love for 3 NFT projects. Quick note: It’s not from a short/mid term financial benefitting standpoint. My main metric for choosing this top 3 is mostly Community + Team. I just added 2 projects I will add more to this article in the near future.

#1| PixelMap.io

Pixelmap.io is founded in 2016 and is considered the second-oldest NFT (on ETH). It is a billboard style project which provides the ability to create, display and immortalize artwork, directly on the blockchain!

Each tile has a 16x16 pixels image and additionally has the option to add text (or an URL) to it. It can be used to show your love for music (see the DONDA tiles), Promote your company (Golom.io i.e.) or even form a sub community and put out one of the oldest memes (See the 5x5 tiles grid with the words: Sator, Arepo, Tenet, Opera, Rotas). There has even been a wedding tile on it!

There’s also community projects starting like pixeltile.io — This is a project where the community votes for a tile in a specific category each month and this story gets told on the website.

The freedom of creativity is wat intrigued me to this project. As a young kid interested in software development I knew early about the one million dollar homepage. Ken (the creator of Pixelmap) was also inspired mainly by the million dollar hompage project.

Ken is one of the greatest projects owners I ever met. He is close with his community, launches airdrops and even helps people from the community where he can. He is also building a game, which is very early early in development phase right now.

There’s also a lot of community members having their own creations and a lot of members supporting each other. There´s even a member selling chocolates on tile numer 3557

For more info about Pixelmap itself, check out PixelMap.io and this Medium post from Adam McBride.

PS: PixelMap NFTs are still for sale on OpenSea for pretty cheap. The floor is very very thin.

#2| ENS

ENS is the leading open source blockchain-based naming protocol. It has more integrations than several multiples of all other blockchain-based naming projects combined. ENS is managed by a non-profit, and they view ENS as a public good and basic infrastructure. And by running on the Ethereum blockchain, ENS can interoperate with everything else happening on Ethereum, taking advantage of things like NFTs, DAOs, ENS name-backed loans, ETH liquidity, et al.

As a software developer operating in the webspace a domain name was and still is, one of the most important things. As this is the name on the internet to connect your story with the internet and have it available to almost everyone in the world.

ENS is like a domain name, it connects your blockchain identity to a readable address. If you want to know more, best is to check out some of the articles on this page.
